Micra 1 litre 2002. Cleanish bodywork for age, solid engine, clutch and gearbox (although it can be hard to get into reverse which is common on these). Only £400.

how long until this one gets killed? 6 months>?

It’s a Micra, they don’t die.

Wow, that looks cleaner than the 2001 my best friends’ parents had when I left England in 2005!

It’s good looking from afar but far from good looking. Plenty of dents and resprayed sections. way nicer than most £400 cars though.

Basic transportation at its basicest. I like it.

Perfect A-B machine that can be trusted to start up. That’s all we needed really.

But you wish they did.
(Seriously, though, NP.)

I certainly don’t like driving them, but we just needed an appliance car so it does the job. Yeah I was surprised it was that cheap, the guy wanted the space back on his driveway so it was priced to go quickly.

Cool! Congrats.

Congrats on the new car!

Thanks!

Thanks, it’s for my dad but I’ll end up driving it a fair bit. He hasn’t even driven it yet haha.

Scrap value on cars has fallen a lot in the past year or so. There’s going to be a lot of cheap shitboxes for sale that people want to get rid of.

Yeah there’s a lot of £100 junk cars on local classifieds. We got £80 in scrap a few months back for our last micra.

I hate America
Jk I don't really but ugh. Nothing running reliably can be had for this cheap

Yeah our used car prices are pretty good.

Sometimes that’s enough. We’re shopping for apartments, and one we were close on came with a garage space. I would dream about what to fill it with, but in reality I’d probably just rent it for 500 bucks or whatever they go for now.

It’s got a face only a mother bulldog could love.

I’d probably get some junk car that’d never run again and take up all my space.

Yeah they’re ugly little things. Handle like a rowing boat too.

One of my friends had a 1.3 Supersport version of this shape Micra, think it was a P reg, in white, his parents bought it him new for his 17th, was an awesomely fun little car, they got rid of the fun ones for the facelift ones like yours.....

But I like money. $500 would go a ways towards paying the $1500 maintenance fee, which all coops and condos in NYC seem to have.

Awesome news, really glad you got it sorted. Has the Saxo departed to meet its maker yet then?

Na it’s getting put up for sale this week.

I bet you could have got this for £500.

Since you didn’t, is that near enough to you that you could go check it out for me? (Ask me again in the morning whether I’ve thought better of it...)

Bit far away for me I’m afraid. Until I get work my fuel budget is £5 a week so I can’t do much driving around...

I can always paypal you some petrol money if that’s the only thing stopping you. Oppo needs more pictures of that beastie.

If you were really interested and covered petrol I’d take a look for sure. I have a lot of spare time on my hands these days (damn terrible job market).

How much petrol can the Twingo use? I don’t remember where you’re based, apart from oop north - is it fairly local to you?
I’m interested, although more for the shits and giggles than because I actually want to buy it - well, I want to buy it, but you know what I mean. A friend’s looking for a cheap daily driver, and I’m trying to persuade him.
Well, if this doesn’t go cheap, anyway:

It’s probably only worth it if you were genuinely interested in buying, be about £15-20 in fuel. I saw Yorkshire and assumed itd be close but its 80 miles away.
That Beat is way cooler than the AX likes.
